In Pakistan, thousands of people have protested against the US drone strike on Thursday that killed more than 40 people in the north-west of the country. Anti-US demonstrators rallied in cities, including Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi. More than 3,000 people gathered outside the Red Mosque in Islamabad shouting anti America slogans and burning the American flag. Local tribal elders say the victims of the air raid were community leaders attending an outdoor meeting in North Waziristan.
