India has said that Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan will not be affected despite increased infiltration by terrorists from across the border and its failure to dismantle terror groups operating from its soil.<br/><br/>The Defence Minister Mr A.K Antony said that even though India is not fully satisfied on action taken by Pakistan with regard to the terrorists responsible for the Mumbai terror attacks,India took the conscious decision to go ahead with talks as Islamabad has had taken some action in accordance with India’s wishes. He was speaking to media on the sidelines of a conference in New Delhi today.<br/><br/>Mr. Antony said that there was a calculated plan behind the spurt in infiltration by terrorists into Jammu & Kashmir as the violence levels in the State has come down and the law and order situation has improved. He said that the 42 terrorist outfits operating from across border are still intact and there is no attempt by Pakistani government to dismantle them. <br/><br/>Earlier, addressing the conference, Mr. Antony said, the terror infrastructure continues to thrive on Pakistani soil. He said that India also continues to be firm on its demand that Pakistan must put an end to terror activities emanating from its soil.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, Pakistan has indicated its readiness for the Foreign Secretary-level talks to be held on the 25th of this month. Disclosing this, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, the two sides need to move forward.<br/><br/>He however insisted on resumption of composite dialogue covering Kashmir and other outstanding issues that is meaningful and result-oriented. Our correspondent reports that though New Delhi is open to discuss all relevant issues, but India is keen to press the issue of cross-border terrorism.<br/><br/>AIR correspondents Vijay Raina & Prem Kukreti report that the talks were proposed by the the Foreign Secretary Ms.Nirupama Rao on 18 and 25 . India has made it clear that the objective of the talks is to enhance trust and confidence between the two countries after Islamabad has taken some action on the terror front. Though it has been made clear that any Mumbai like terror attack will derail the peace process and impact the bilateral relations, New Delhi is open to discuss all the issues Pakistan wants to raise but is keen to press the issue of terror at the centre.
