Pak mosque attack kills at least 50

In Pakistan, at least 50 people have been killed and more than 90 injured in a suicide bomb attack on a mosque in north-west Pakistan. According to police, the bomber blew up himself in the mosque near Darra Adam Khel tribal region, some 30 kilometers from Peshawar, the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Local television channels reported that many people were stuck under the debris after the roof of the mosque collapsed due to the intensity of the blast. The injured were shifted to Peshawar and doctors said several were in critical condition. Officials said that the bomber wanted to target a pro- government tribal elder, who was believed to be in the mosque for Friday prayers with some 500 others. Police have reached the site and cordoned off the area.Meanwhile, Pakistani Taliban from Darra Adam Khel area claimed responsibility for the attack.
