Pak militants detained in Bangladesh

The Rapid Action Battalion of the Bangladesh Police have arrested a Pakistani national and four locals for suspected links to Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed in Dhaka. According to officials of RAB, the five people were arrested on Sunday. Among the arrested, 26 year old Rezwan Ahmed was a Pakistan citizen and had been coordinating JeM operations in Bangladesh. During interrogation,<br/>Rezwan reportedly admitted that his assignment was to recruit local<br/>youth and prepare them to stage terrorist attacks. The other people arrested include Abu Naser Munshi, Imad Uddin alias Munna, Sadeque Hossain alias Khoka and Nannu Mian alias Belal Mandol alias Billal. Billal had been jailed in India for his involvement in hijacking an Indian Airlines plane in December 1999. This is the first time that the Bangladesh Police have captured suspected members of JeM, one of the major terrorist outfits operating in South Asia.<br/>
