Pak frees 89 Indian prisoners

Pakistan released 89 Indian fishermen from Attari-Wagha border land route, today. All the fishermen belong to Gujarat who inadvertently went into Pakistan waters while fishing on their boats. Soon after crossing over to India, the fishermen said that there are some more fishermen lodged in Pakistani jails. The step by both sides is a follow up to the recently concluded Home Secretary-level talks between India and Pakistan and an attempt to give a fresh impetus to their bilateral relations. At the meeting, both the neighbouring countries had agreed that the problem and issues of the inadvertent crossers should be viewed sympathetically. India had also released 39 Pakistan prisoners on April 11th.
