Pak forces take full control of Kanigurram in S Waziristan

Pakistan's security forces have taken full control of Kanigurram, one of the biggest towns and formerly a key Taliban operational center in South Waziristan tribal agency.<br/> The army spokesman Major General Athar Abbas told a news conference in Islamabd that the area has been completely cleared of terrorists and during the operation, army recovered five truck-loads of ammunition, arms and explosives.<br/> Meanwhile, in a daily press release, the military said the troops have killed 12 more militants during the last 24 hours, bringing the total fatality to over 350, in South Waziristan. Pakistani security forces launched the ground assault on 17th of Octocber with about 30,000 soldiers to take on an estimated 10,000 hard-core Taliban militants in the lawless area.
