In Pakistan, a police officer escaped unhurt in a roadside bomb attack near a check post in the restive northwestern city of Peshawar on Saturday. Police said the device was detonated through remote control as the police official's car passed by on the Ring road of Peshawar. Witnesses said the blast smashed windows of some buildings in the locality and caused minor damage to the vehicle. No group claimed responsibility for the attack. Police arrested two persons from the blast site.
