Pak begins strategic talks with US on several issues

Pakistan today began strategic talks with the United States seeking enhanced partnership on a whole range of issues, including energy. <br/><br/>Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, in his opening remarks at the start of the strategic dialogue sought non-discriminatory access to energy, in an apparent reference to nuclear cooperation that Pakistan is seeking on the lines of Indo-US nuclear deal. The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said, stability in Pakistan was important for her country. <br/><br/>She said, the United States recognises the central role that Pakistan was playing for the stability in the region and pledged full support in meeting its urgent energy needs.
