Pakistan have begun their campaign in 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup on a winning note. In their opening Group 'A' match at Hambantota in Sri Lanka, they beat Kenya by an emphatic margin of 205 runs. Chasing a huge victory target of 318 runs, Kenya were all out for 112 runs in 33.1 overs in the Day-Night encounter. Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Pakistan piled up a massive 317 for seven in their 50 overs. After a poor start, losing both the openers for just 12 runs, four of their middle order batsmen chipped in with valuable half-centuries and helped the team post a challenging total of 317 for seven. Pakistan earned two points from the win. However, for Kenya it is their second defeat in as many matches after losing to New Zealand on Sunday.
