Pakistan has asked mobile telephone companies to stop BlackBerry service to all foreign missions in the country. Telecommunications officials said the mobile service providers have agreed to meet the government's demands. But the officials provided no further details. BlackBerry devices use an advanced encrypted e-mail system and are preferred by business people and diplomats because of the secure communication they offer.
