In Jammu and Kashmir, an Army jawan was killed yesterday due to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control in Poonch district. According to Defence Spokesperson, Col. R.K.Palta, Havaldar Mohd. Feroz Khan was hit by a mortar splinter during a ceasefire violation by Pak troops in the Hamirpur sector in Bhimber Ghali of Poonch district last evening. The deceased hailed from Hyderabad. Pakistan troops started unprovoked firing on Indian forward posts from 6.30 am, yesterday, which was the third violation during the last 24 hours. Alert Indian troops guarding the borderline gave an effective response and the exchange of fire continued throughout the day.
