In Jammu and Kashmir, one Army jawan was killed on Tuesday due to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing by Pakistan troops along the Line of Control in Poonch district. According to Defence Spokesperson, Col. R.K.Palta, Havaldar Mohd. Feroz Khan was hit by a mortar splinter during ceasefire violation by Pak troops in Hamirpur sector in Bhimber Ghali of Poonch district last evening. The deceased hailed from Hyderabad.
Pakistan troops had started unprovoked firing on Indian forward posts from 6.30 am on Tuesday, which was the third ceasefire violation in a day, using small arms, automatic weapons and mortars.
Alert Indian troops guarding the borderline gave an effective response and the exchange of fire continued throughout the day.
Meanwhile, General Officer Commanding of White Knight Corps has expressed deep condolences to the Martyr’s family.
