<span style="color: #222222;">As part of celebrations for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Consulate General of India (CGI), Guangzhou organized a unique 'Painting Workshop on Kerala Murals' and an exhibition on Indian Handlooms for the Diplomatic corps based in South China at premises of the Consulate.&nbsp;</span><br />''<br />''The workshop called 'Panchvarna' was conducted a well-known artist Dhanya Ranjit on 2 September and saw an enthusiastic participation from around 25 diplomats.<br />''<br />''In his address Consul General Shambhu Hakki mentioned about the Consulate's initiatives to spread the knowledge of Indian arts &amp; culture in South China. Consul General highlighted the techniques and its historical importance. The workshop received a very positive response from the diplomats.<br />''<br />''The Consul General of Thailand in Guangzhou shared her experience saying that this workshop is amazing as I have a chance to learn and experience the mural painting of India, where I have never been to, but I would love to visit someday.<br />''<br />''Consul General of Turkey said, today we learnt to paint a special Indian art. It was relaxing and we had many happy moments. This is not the first time we have been to the Indian Consulate in Guangzhou highlighting many other such programs organized by the CGI Guangzhou.<br />''<br />''Spouse of the Turkish Consul General praised the workshop and termed it as a wonderful experience. "To discover Indian arts is a very long journey which brings many positive feelings. Thank you very much CG and Indian Consulate," she added.<br />''<br />''A diplomat from Angola expressed his happiness to participate in these activities organized by the Consulate and thanked the Consul General Shambhu Hakki. "We can learn many things like drawing, and I hope we can teach this experience to people who are not here. Thank you very much," he said.<br />''<br />''The Kerala Murals Painting Workshop is a part of the 'Manch' – an initiative undertaken by the Consulate to promote Indian Arts &amp; Culture through Workshops and Classes. Earlier, the Consulate had organized Bollywood Dance and Kathak Workshops under this initiative.<br />''<br />''After the Painting Workshop, the diplomats visited the Handlooms exhibition organized by the CGI to promote Indian Handlooms and Handicrafts in South China. It showcased handlooms, temple jewellery, and artefacts from all over India.
