Paid holiday on polling day for Haryana govt staff who are voters in Punjab

Haryana Government has notified tomorrow, the polling day in Punjab, as a paid holiday for its employees who are enrolled as voters in Punjab, so as to enable them to exercising their franchise in the General Assembly Elections.<br/> <br/>Stating this at Chandigarh today, an official spokesman said that the holiday would be observed under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act and section 135-B of Representation of the People Act in all Haryana Government offices, educational institutions, boards and corporations. The same is applicable for the employees of various factories, shops and private establishments located in Haryana, who are registered voters of Punjab, <br/> Liquor shops in the districts Ambala, Kurukshetra, Sirsa etc will remain closed tomorrow.
