India's Leander Paes and his Swiss partner Martina Hingis have lifted the Mixed Doubles trophy of season's Final Grand Slam, the US Open. In the summit clash, 4th seeded Indo-Swiss pair defeated Americans Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Sam Querrey 6-4, 3-6, 10-7. This is Paes's third Grand Slam of this season with Hingis. They together won the Australian Open and Wimbledon Championship earlier this year.Meanwhile, in a major shock unseeded Italian Roberta Vinci stunned defending champion Serena Williams to reach Women's Singles Final and ended her run for a calendar-year Grand Slam. In the semi final clash, Vinci pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the US Open history, dethroning World Number One Serena 2-6, 6-4, 6-4. In the other semi final another Italian the 26th seed Flavia Pennetta defeated 2nd seeded Simona Halep of Romania to make it an all Italian Grand Slam final. Flavia recorded a straight set victory over Halep 6-1, 6-3 to book her maiden berth in Grand Slam final.In the men's last 4 matches, top seed Novak Djokovic of Serbia showed no hiccups as he defeated Defending Champion Marin Cilic of Croatia in straight sets of 6-0, 6-1, 6-2. While second seed Swiss Roger Federer takes on his compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka in the second semi final match.
