In Melbourne, the veteran Indian duo of Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi finished as runners-up in the Men's Doubles in the Australian Open Tennis championships. In the final played at the Rod Laver arena yesterday, the third seeded duo lost to the top-seeded American twins Bob and Mike Bryan in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. Earlier, Kim Clijsters of Belgium won the Women's Singles title in the championship. In the final, she defeated China's Li Na in three sets 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Her victory ended Li's hope of becoming Asia's first grand slam singles champion.
