The Bangladesh government on Tuesday signed a loan agreement for 140 million US Dollars with Islamic Development Bank for the construction of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project. Bangladesh Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith and President of Islamic Development Bank Dr Ahmad Mohamed Ali signed the agreement at the finance ministry in Dhaka. Finance Minister A.M.A.Muhith said that the 2.93 Billion US dollar bridge project will help improve the communication infrastructure between South Bangladesh and the rest of the country. IDB President, Dr. Ahmad Mohammed Ali reiterated his organization's commitment to Bangladesh’s progress and said that his organization was willing to co-operate with other development organizations interested in the development of Bangladesh.
