In Haryana, Paddy has started arriving in the mandis. Over 68000 metric tonnes of paddy had arrived in various mandis of the State till yesterday during this season.A spokesman of the Food and Supplies Department said in Chandigarh that out of the total arrival of paddy over 48000 metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased by the Government agencies at a minimum support price of 1030 rupees per quintal for Grade-A varieties of paddy and 1000 rupees per quintal for Common varieties of paddy. The rest 19,600 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased by the millers.He said that the district Karnal is leading in the paddy arrival with 16440 metric tonnes followed by Ambala 13853 metric tonnes.
