Parliament's Public Accounts Committee, PAC will examine the Comptroller and Auditor General's report on Adarsh housing society from Monday. The report alleges that two former Maharashtra Chief Ministers and some top army officials have flouted norms related to the allotment of flats.
Officials from the Defence Ministry will brief the PAC, chaired by BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, regarding the same case in Mumbai. The CAG report which was tabled in Parliament on August 9, came down heavily on concessions granted by the Maharashtra government. The report has also stated that rules were bent to benefit relatives of politicians, public servants and senior service officers, including former Army Chiefs Gen. Deepak Kapoor and N C Vij.
