India's Parupalli Kashyap has reached the second round of the 200,000 US Dollar Badminton Asia Championships. At Wuhan, China, today, the Commonwealth champion outplayed Singapore's Zi Liang Derek Wong in straight games 21-17, 21-13 in a 39-minute contest. Kashyap will next take on Ya Ching Hsu of Chinese Taipei tomorrow. In women's doubles, however, the pair of Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa lost in three games against the Chinese Taipei duo of Yu Po Pai and Ya Ching Hsu.
