P Chidambaram says, National Skill Development Mission will be relaunched by PM under new name

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram has said that National Skill Development Mission will be relaunched by the Prime Minister under a new name. In a tweet, Mr Chidambaram said, the mission was originally launched in August 2010. He said, its flagship scheme STAR was launched in August 2013 and the first certificates were distributed to the trained youth on 5th of February 2014. Mr Chidambaram said, National Skill Development Corporation has enrolled 160 training partners and 1722 trainers. He said, 35 lakh persons have already been trained. <br/><br/>Mr Chidambaram took a jibe at the launching of the Skill Development Programme by Mr Modi, saying it will be an Achhe Din for the NDA government.
