Manoj Nayak, a member trustee and founder of Sikshya O Anusandhan Charitable Trust, that runs the SUM Hospital where 21 people were killed in a major fire mishap on last Monday, was arrested this morning after he surrendered before Khandagiri police in Bhubaneswar. <br/><br/>Nayak was taken to an undisclosed destination where the police were interrogating him. Bhubaneswar Commissioner of police Y B Khurania said, police may go for arrest of more people during course of investigation. With the arrest of Nayak, the number of those held in connection with the fire tragedy now stands at five.<br/><br/>Yesterday, the Police had issued a Look Out Circular in the name of Nayak and his wife Saswati Das, both trustees of the charitable trust. However, there was no immediate confirmation about detention of his wife. <br/><br/>The Odisha government had registered a couple of FIRs against the management of the hospital accusing them of neglecting fire safety norms and delaying the evacuation of patients during the incident. Meanwhile, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Black Money directed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to examine the financial transactions of his institutions.
