Union Minister of Indian Overseas Affairs Vayalar Ravi today assumed an additional charge as the Minister for Science & Technology. Taking charge, Mr. Ravi elaborated on the importance of Science & Technology in the growth of the nation and the importance placed on Science & Technology by the past and present Prime Ministers of India. Expressing confidence in the capabilities of Indian Scientists, the Minister said that Scientists shall continue their good work without any intervention from the Ministry. The Minister also had a detailed interaction with the senior officers of the Ministry.
Mr. Ravi was given additional charge of the Ministry of Science and Technology, after Vilasrao Deshmukh holding the ministry passed away earlier this month.
