In Punjab, thousands of acres of land are inundated due to heavy flow of water into the Beas river. Villages of six districts along the Beas river have been badly affected. This flood-like situation is arising because of the water level in the Pong Dam Reservoir is increasing due to heavy rain in the catchment areas of the Beas river.
