The overall situation of the Lower Assam has improved. A strict vigil is being maintained by army and other Para-military forces. District administration has lifted curfew at Tezpur in Sonitpur district. Curfew was also relaxed at Barpeta Road, Chirang and Aam Bagan of Nagaon from 4 to 15 hours. People in good number came out from their home to buy necessary items.A group of Ministers today held a discussion in Guwahati on relief and rehabilitation measures. The meeting decided to expedite the rehabilitation of the displaced people in the wake of violence after the verification of land and other documents. At present, two lakh, 40 thousand people are staying at relief camps.Meanwhile, North East Frontier Railway will run a special train tomorrow between Guwahati and Bangalore. Twelve hundred tickets have already been sold. State government will provide adequate security to the passengers.
