Overall progress of monsoon is fairly satisfactory : IMD

India Meteorological Department – IMD said overall progress of monsoon is fairly satisfactory. DG I MD K J Ramesh said so far, all India rainfall has been 100 percent. He said monsoon has covered most parts of country, except Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajsthan, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Jammu Kashmir. He said monsoon will advance in these areas between 30th June and 4th July.<br/><br/>Meanwhile, pre-monsoon showers lashed various parts of the national capital on Wednesday afternoon, bringing relief to Delhiites from scorching heat. The city has so far received 15.6 millimetre rainfall. Wednesday's maximum temperature was recorded 35 degree Celsius, two degree below normal while the minimum settled at 28 degree Celsius.The weatherman has predicted generally cloudy sky with spell of rains during next 24 hours. Thursday's maximum and minimum temperature will be hovering around 32 and 26 degree Celsius.
