The key domestic stock indices closed marginally negative amid negative global queues. The BSE Sensex reduced by 126 points, or 0.19 percent and finished this week's trade at 66,283. NSE Nifty fell 43 points, or 0.22 percent and finished the week's trade at 19,751.
In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap index fell 0.05 per cent and the Small-cap index slipped 0.04 per cent.
In the Sensex Index, which is a pack of 30 companies, shares of 16 companies appreciated while 14 companies declined. Tata Motors climbed 4.8 per cent, IndusInd Bank gained 2.6 percent and HCL Tech rose two and half a percent.
On the other hand, Axis Bank declined 2.3 percent, Infosys fell 2.2 percent and SBI slipped 1.7 percent.
In sectoral indices at the BSE, nine sectors logged gains while 11 witnessed losses. Auto sector gained 0.9 percent. Reality and Consumer Discretionary indices, both rose 0.4 percent each.
On the other side, Bankex sector declined 0.8 percent, IT index fell 0.7 percent and Financial Services slipped half a percent.
The overall market breadth was negative as shares of 1,189 companies declined while those of 1,805 companies gained. A total of 156 shares remained unchanged.
