In Assam, the overall flood situation still remained unchanged in Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Golaghat and Sonitpur Dhemaji districts. The incessant rain in the affected districts and the catchments of the neighbouring hills of Arunachal Pradesh flooded villages and agricultural fields. AIR correspondent reports, flood and erosion created havoc in at least 6 districts of Assam.The flood waters entered the Kaziranga National park. The overflowing streams submerged a few low-lying areas of the park. Also, incessant rains disrupted road communication at Lakhimpur with Dhemaji and Arunachal Pradesh. With nearly two lakh people and at least 200 villages affected by the floods. The Centre had already deployed five teams of the National Disaster Response to Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts. Apart from flood, erosion is also creating threat to the people at a few places in Morigaon, Nagaon, Dhubri and Barpeta district. Food and other relief items are being supplied to the affected people by the district administrations.
