Overall CAD will reduce to below USD70 bn : PMEAC chief Rangarajan

Chairman of the Economic Advisory Council to Prime Minister, C Rangarajan said on Monday that the Current Account Deficit, CAD will go down well below 70 billion US Dollars. Pointing out that in August and September, India's exports showed a double digit growth rate, Rangarajan said at an event in Chennai that India's trade deficit in the first half of this year was 80 billion dollars as compared to 92 billion dollars in the previous year. If the present trend in exports and imports continue, the overall CAD will reduce even lower than USD 70 billion, he said
