<span style="color: #222222;">Government on Tuesday said over two lakh farmers have benefitted from PM- KUSUM scheme. The scheme was introduced in 2019 with objectives including de-dieselisation of the farm sector, providing water and energy security to farmers, increasing the income of farmers and curbing environmental pollution.<br />''<br />''In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Power Minister RK Singh said PM-KUSUM is a demand driven scheme and capacities are allocated under three components based on demand received from states and UTs. Under Component-A, individual farmers or a group of farmers or cooperatives or panchayats can install solar power plants up to 2 Megawatt capacity on land. Under Component-B and Component-C of the scheme, they can install the standalone solar pumps or solarize their existing grid-connected agriculture pumps.</span><br />
