Over two crore 82 lakh households electrified across country so far under Saubhagya scheme

<span style="color: #000000;">Government today said that two crore 82 lakh households have been electrified so far under the Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana ' Saubhagya. The scheme has completed four years today since its inception. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched this scheme on this day in 2017 to ensure electrification of all willing households in the country in rural as well as urban areas.<br />''<br />'' Saubhagya is one of the largest household electrification drives in the world. The objective of the scheme was achieving Universal Household Electrification in the country, through last mile connectivity and providing access to electricity to all un-electrified households.<br />''<br />''The scheme was started with an outlay of 16 thousand 320 crore rupees. The outlay for the rural households was over 14 thousand crore rupees while for the urban households the outlay is 2,295 crore rupees. Power Ministry said, all states have been requested to launch special campaigns in their respective states to identify any left out un-electrified household and subsequently provide electricity connections to them.</span><br />
