More than 3.30 crore Schedule Caste and OBC students have got scholarships during last two years. <br/><br/>Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment in a release said that to enable SC students to complete their education at post matriculation or post-secondary stage, the Ministry provides financial assistance in the form of post matric scholarship. <br/><br/>Boys and girls belonging to schedule caste studying in middle school, higher secondary schools, colleges and universities are also given assistance for hostel facilities. <br/><br/>The Government also provides financial assistance for pursing research studies leading to M. Phil., Ph.D. and equivalent research degree in universities, research institutions and scientific institution. <br/><br/>During 2014-15 and 2015-16, the Ministry has disbursed scholarships worth approximately 7,465 crore rupees under the various Schemes.<br/><br/>The Ministry said, it is implementing various schemes to build an inclusive society, wherein members of SC and OBC can lead productive, safe and dignified lives with adequate support for their growth and development.
