In Jammu and Kashmir, about six million people have performed darshan of Goddess Vaishno Devi at Trikuta Hills in Katra during first eight months of this year. The number of people who visited the holly site is about 3.43 lakh more than the last year.AIR correspondent R.K. Raina reports from Jammu that pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine had stood an all time high at 82 lakh in Year 2009. With increase in yatra by about 3.43 lakh during eight months of this year, the Shrine Board authorities are expecting the pilgrimage this year to cross 85 lakh if everything goes well. A little more increase in the pilgrimage during remaining four months of this year could even take the yatra close to 90 lakh. Shrine Board is making all out efforts and creating more and more facilities in the Bhawan and base camp Katra for the convenience and comfort of the pilgrims.
