Over six lakh posts in various central government ministries are vacant. This was informed by Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha yesterday. <br/><br/>He said, out of the total sanctioned posts of around 37 lakh, a total of six lakh 2,000 posts are vacant. He said, of the total vacancies, around 5 lakh are at Group-C level (comprising clerical and support staff), 51,000 are of Group-B level, and more than 17,000 are of Group-A officers' level.
