Over one thousand 33 lakh hectares of land have been covered under the cultivation of kharif crops in various parts of the country till 13th of this month. The Agriculture Ministry in its data said that sown area is over 54 lakh hectares more than the areas covered during the same period of last year. Rice has been cultivated in over 371 lakh hectares, pulses in over 103 lakh hectares, coarse cereals in around 195 lakh hectares and cotton sown in over 113 lakh hectares.
