Over five crore 83 lakh Income Tax Returns, ITRs have been filed till 31st of July the last day. The Revenue Department said that a record of over 72 lakh 42 thousand ITRs were filed on a single day yesterday.

The Department expressed gratitude to taxpayers and tax professionals for making compliances in the time leading to a surge in filing of ITRs resulting in a new record.
