At least a dozen people, including the jailer and deputy jailer, were today injured at the Meerut jail in Utter Pradesh a clash between prisoners and officials.The injured have been taken to the hospital.Police had to resort to firing to bring the situation under control. District Magistrate said that the clash began after some prisoners started beating the jail officials. He said that the rioting prisoners also set ablaze the common mess using gas cylinders from the kitchen. A judicial inquiry has been ordered to probe the incident .
