In Punjab,98 lakh 92 thousand tonnes wheat has been purchased till last evening by government agencies and private millers.<br/><br/>Government agencies purchased 98 lakh 50 thousand tonnes of wheat while remaining has been purchased by private agencies. Markfed is at number one with 23 lakh ton purchase followed by PUNSUP which purchased 22 lakh 19 thousand tons.<br/><br/>Central government agency FCI has purchased 16 lakh tonnes of wheat.Ferozepur district is leading in the procurement with 11 lakh 19 thousand tonnes.
