The Union Government has said that more than 92 percent of households in Himachal Pradesh have been provided tap water supply under Jal Jeevan Mission. Out of 17 lakh 27 thousand rural households more than 16 lakh households have received tap water connections in the state. <br />”<br />”<span style="color: #222222;">The mission was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15th August 2019, with an aim to ensure piped water supply to every rural home by 2024.<br />”<br />”Jal Shakti Ministry said, eight lakh 42 thousand households in Himachal Pradesh have been provided with tap water connections since the launch of the mission. Four districts, 24 blocks and 14 thousand 590 villages have become 'Har Ghar Jal' in the state. Chamba, the only Aspirational District in Himachal Pradesh, has become the 100th 'Har Ghar Jal' District in the country. All schools, Anganwadi Centres and Gram Panchayats have tap water supply. Himachal Pradesh has been allocated one thousand 280 crore rupees for the current financial year under Jal Jeevan Mission.<br />”<br />”The vision of the Jal Jeevan Mission is to ensure that every rural household has drinking water supply in adequate quantity of prescribed quality to improve the living standards of rural communities. Over nine crore 44 lakh rural households in the country have been provided with tap water connections till 20th of this month.</span><br />”<br />
