In Sikkim, over 9,000 people in 11 villages in northern part of state have been affected by flash floods and landslide. State Chief Secretary Karma Gyatso took stock of the situation at a meeting of senior officials and reviewed relief and rescue operations in affected area.On the other hand, about 77,000 thousand people have left relief camps during the last 24 hours as the overall flood situation improved in Assam. All major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, have receded.So far 27 people have died in flood related incidents while six remained missing. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will visit flood hit areas of Upper Assam today. AIR correspondent reports that the state Agriculture minister has announced a slew of measures for the flood affected farmers.
