The Centre has informed that there are over 85,000 posts lying vacant in various Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles at the beginning of this year. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said 2,366 vacancies in Gazetted officers and Assistant commandant and above 19,247 vacancies in Subordinate Officers, Assistant Sub Inspector to Inspector level posts, and over 64,000 vacancies in other ranks are lying vacant.<br />''<br />''However, the Minister also said recruitment for over 1,09,000 also completed in the last 5 years.
