In Jammu and Kashmir amid heavy downpour, over eighty two per cent polling was recorded in the second phase of Panchayat elections today. Polling was held in five blocks of the Valley.One block each in Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kulgam, Kupwara and Budgam districts. 275 Sarpanchs and 2031 panchs participated in the elections.AIR Srinagar correspondent reports that peaceful and brisk polling in Panchayat election augurs well for the sensitive border state.
