In West Bengal, over 80 percent polling has been recorded during the third phase of Assembly elections. 75 constituencies spread over Kolkata and North and South 24 Pargana districts went to the polls in this phase on Wednesday. The polling was by and large peaceful. The voting percentage is low in Kolkata compared to two other districts. Chief Electoral Officer of the State Sunil Gupta said in Kolkata last evening that 83 percent voting was recorded in North 24 Pargana, 84 percent in South 24 Pargana while 64.5 percent voting was recorded in Kolkata. Meanwhile, campaigning for fourth phase of elections has gained momentum. The fourth phase of elections will be held in 63 seats covering Howrah, Hoogly East Midnapore and two sub-divisions of Bardwan districts on 3rd of next month.
