The Education Ministry today said that it has instituted Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar (SVP) from 2016-17 at District, State and National level to promote cleanliness in schools. In a written reply in the Lok Sabha Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi informed that during the period of 2021-22, more than 8.23 lakh schools have taken part in Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar and top-ranking schools have been felicitated at the District, State and National Level.<br />'' <br />'' She said a total of 57 thousand 177 schools have got Five Star rankings and more than 2 lakh 99 thousand schools have got Four Star rankings during the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar -2021-22.<br />'' <br />'' The Minister said the SVP has institutionalized a Swacchta Ranking system for excellence in water, sanitation and hygiene in schools across the country. <br />''
