A major earthquake of 7.1 magnitude struck the Solomon Islands today. The US Geological Survey reports, the epicenter of the quake was 52 km deep, 97 km southwest of the Solomon Islands' Kira Kira in the Pacific Ocean. It hit at 3.10 PM IST. Details are awaited.
