Over 500 literary personalities, Nobel Prize winner, Booker awardees to take part in Dhaka Lit Fest 2023

More than 500 literary personalities across the globe including Nobel Prize Winner Abdulrazak Gurnah will be taking part in the 10th edition of the Dhaka Lit Fest (DLF) to be held in Dhaka between Jan 5-8. The four day event will feature a galaxy of internationally acclaimed authors including Amitav Ghosh, Hanif Kureishi, Alexandra Pringle, Geetanjali Shree, Daisy Rockwell, Esther Freud, Joy Goswami, Kaiser Haq among others. <br />'' <br />'' The DLF will have over 175 sessions with discussions on science and technology, activities for children, young adults, film screenings, theatrical, music, and cultural performances. <br />'' <br />'' Announcing this at a press-conference in Dhaka on Sunday, the organisers of the DLF termed it as a 'festival of ideas'. One of the Directors of the DLF, Kazi Anis Ahmed said that the 4-day event will also have discussion on films, OTT, Science and other topics of public interest. He said that the DLF will have presentations for children as well as women. Dhaka Lit Fest will also organise discussions on health, food and cooking among other topics. <br />'' <br />'' The event is being organised after a break of three years due to Covid-19 pandemic. The festival has generated a heated debate in the social media as it has decided to charge a daily entry fee between Taka 200- Tk 500 for visitors to the Lit Fest. The earlier 9 editions of the DLF were free for the participants.
