<span style="color: #222222;">More than eight crore 68 lakh families living in rural areas are getting clean water from tap in their homes. Jal Shakti Ministry has said that over five crore 44 lakh households have been provided with tap water supply since the launch of the Jal Jeevan Mission despite challenges faced due to Covid-19 pandemic. It said, at the start of the mission in 2019, out of 19 crore 20 lakh rural households in the country, only 3 crore 23 lakh had tap water supply.<br />''<br />''Mission Director of National Jal Jeevan Mission Bharat Lal said that the media has a very important role in generating awareness about Jal Jeevan Mission. He was addressing in a national media interaction organized by UNICEF in New Delhi today.
