Over 4,000 nominations accepted for Assembly poll in Tamilnadu

<span style="color: #222222;">In Tamilnadu, more than 4000 nominations have been accepted and 2300 nominations rejected in the 234 Assembly constituencies for the single-phase poll on 6th April. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is on 22nd March. In the  Karur assembly constituency, a maximum of  97 nominations were filed out of which 13 were rejected and 84 were accepted. In Kanyakumari Lok Sabha by-poll out of the 23 nominations 13 were accepted and ten were rejected.  <br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent reports that the election commission has introduced cVigil app for citizens to file complaint against a candidate or a political party for violating model code of conduct. cVigil empowers Citizens to report model code of conduct violations such as bribery, free gift, liquor distribution, playing loudspeakers beyond the permissible time during the elections.  <br />'' <br />'' By using a simple mobile app, the citizen captures the live photo or video and send the evidence along with short descriptive report of the incident.<br />'' <br />'' The app enables automatically forwarding complaints to the respective district control room from where it is flagged to the flying squad teams who are able to reach the spot quickly. Users can also track the status of their complaints. The mobile app is available at Google play store. </span><br />''
