The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has said that more than 40 lakh Kilograms of waste have been collected across the country through Clean India Drives so far. The month ' long nationwide Clean India Drive to clean waste was launched on 1st of this month. It is a youth-led programme being organised in six lakh villages of 744 Districts across the country through the networks of Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #000000;">Earlier, Mr Thakur had said that it was the government's resolve to create a plastic-free India, an India of Gandhiji's dreams and as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which Swachchta occupies the topmost priority. Mr Thakur had said, it will be the largest cleanliness drive of the world in which more than 75 lakh tonnes of waste, primarily plastic waste, from different parts of the country will be collected and further processed in a Waste to Wealth model. He said, the drive aims to propagate the mantra of Clean India: Safe India.</span><br />
