Over 37 percent polling recorded in J&K till 2 pm

In Jammu and Kashmir 37.46 per cent polling was recorded till 2 pm in 18 assembly segments, spread over three districts of Srinagar, Anantnag and Shopian in the Kashmir valley, which went to polls in the 4th phase of elections today along with two assembly segments of Samba district in Jammu Division. Pahalgam Assembly segment recorded maximum of 54.63 per cent followed by 53.46 per cent in Shangus Assembly segment of Anantnag district. In Dooru constituency of the district where from Tourism Minister G. A. Mir is contesting, 52.63 per cent polling was recorded.

Sonawar Assembly segment in Srinagar district where from Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is contesting this time after shifting from his traditional Ganderbal seat recorded 33.85 per cent polling. Habbakadal Assembly constituency in Srinagar district had recorded lowest 13.44 per cent voting. Voting was going on peacefully with no untoward incident reported from anywhere. Stringent security arrangements have been put in place to ensure incident-free polling

In the Jammu Division, Vijaypur Assembly segment in Samba districtrecorded maximum 63.44 per cent voting followed by 62 per cent in Samba constituency.
